About the initiative
The European Universities Initiative supports the institutional transnational cooperation between higher education institutions to reinforce the quality, performance, attractiveness and competitiveness of tertiary education in Europe. Erasmus+ is currently funding 50 alliances gathering 430+ higher education institutions. The 2024 Call for proposals will be the fifth of its kind after 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023. Ultimately, the European Universities Initiative aims to support 500 higher education institutions in 60 alliances by 2024. The share of UAS within the alliances has continuously increased since the start of the initiative. This Call for proposals will be the last opportunity to launch new alliances before the end of the programming period in 2027.
